Vortex Earns an At-Large Bid to The Summit

On November 18, Genesis Athletix traveled to Kalahari in Sandusky, Ohio to compete in their first-ever allstar cheerleading competition, Queen of the Nile, produced by All-Star Challenge. After a successful Intergalactic Reveal, we were ready to show the cheerleading industry our athletes and their amazing routines.

Meteorites, Genesis Athletix Tiny Novice team, comprised of Korra, Sloane, Lily, Oakley, Percy, Teddy, Avrie, Carly, and Kylie, were the first team from Genesis Athletix to perform their routine at a competition. From the moment they took the mat, they commanded the stage with their energy and sass, captivating the audience. Their routine was executed with enthusiasm, showcasing their skills and dedication.

Meteorites are given a ranking based on their execution of the routine. Competing against other teams is not the focus of this division- teams are judged based on their performance.  After the completion of their performance, the judges awarded them an Excellent rating, a testament to their hard work and talent. When final scores were released, Meteorites earned the highest score among all other teams in their division.

The team that was up next to take the mat was Apollo. They were competing in the Youth Level 1 category and their performance was spread over two days. Apollo had a big challenge to overcome in this competition, as they had recently added four new athletes to their team and had to learn a brand new routine in less than a month. Despite this challenge, Apollo showed their determination and resilience by performing their routine with precision and confidence. On the second day of the competition, they managed to hit zero, meaning they had no deductions, which was a remarkable achievement.

Apollo was up against five other teams in their division, but they were able to showcase their skills and secured second place in the standings. This achievement was a testament to their hard work and dedication in preparing for the competition. It also earned them a bid to the Midwest Regional Summit in Indianapolis, Indiana, which is a prestigious event that attracts the best cheerleading teams from across the region. Overall, Apollo's performance was impressive and inspiring, and they showed that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.

The Guardians is an all-girl international level 2 team that represents Genesis Athletix and competes in the U16 category. This team is comprised of highly skilled athletes, with ages ranging from 12 to 16 years old. The team is judged based on a different scoresheet than the other elite teams, which takes into account their age and level of experience and has a higher emphasis on stunting.

During their performance, the Guardians took the mat with confidence and put on an impressive show for both their families and judges. Their routine was carefully choreographed and included multiple tumbling sequences, high-energy dance moves, and complex stunts that required precision and coordination. The athletes showcased their agility, strength, and flexibility as they moved across the mat with grace and fluidity.

Despite not having any competition in their division, the Guardians did not take their performance lightly. They performed their routine admirably, leaving the judges in awe of their skills. The team earned an impressive score that would have been tough to beat by other teams, even those in higher divisions.

Overall, the Guardians' performance was a testament to their hard work and dedication. They proved that even in the absence of competition, they are committed to giving their best and striving for excellence.

Zenon, the highly skilled team of the 21st Century, takes part in the Senior Coed Level 5 division. Comprising of some of the most accomplished athletes in the program, Zenon's team members spend endless hours honing their stunting and tumbling abilities to perfection.

The atmosphere was electric as Zenon took to the floor to perform their intricate routine. Their show of energy and athleticism kept the audience on the edge of their seats, leaving no doubt that they are a team to watch this season. Their performance was not only impressive but also challenging for the other level 5 teams to compete against them for the highest team score.

The true measure of Zenon's commitment to each other was displayed when a teammate was hurt during their performance. Rather than stopping, the injured athlete persevered with a smile and without making any mistakes, showing the team's unbreakable spirit and dedication to one another. After the routine, Zenon never left their injured teammate's side- sticking by her throughout examinations from the on-site medical personnel. This exceptional display of teamwork and support is a testament to the values of the Genesis Athletix owners and coaches and fills them with pride.

This season, Vortex has been the talk of the town. Comprised of 18 extraordinary athletes, they have taken on some of the most challenging and creative stunts permitted within the Level 3 division. Each athlete brings their unique skills to the routine, resulting in a mesmerizing and unforgettable performance. In fact, a gym owner from another team was so impressed that they sent a message to Genesis Athletix saying, "HOLY SOLID! Those kids absolutely killed it!"

Vortex competed for two consecutive days and managed to avoid any deductions, making history as the first team at Genesis Athletix to achieve this accomplishment.  The coaches and fans were drawn into the enthusiasm of the athlete's performance as the cheers filled the arena.  Parents and athletes could not hold back tears of joy watching their performance. At the conclusion of their day 2 performance, Head Coach Ryan Long stated, "I have nothing to say. You did everything we asked and I am so proud of you!"

Their exceptional score, in the upper 90s, secured them an At-Large bid to The Summit at Walt Disney World in May. Finally, Vortex dominated their division, becoming the first team from the program to earn a bid to The Summit. It's safe to say that Vortex's performance was nothing short of phenomenal.

The first competition for Genesis Athletix was a huge success for the program and was a great launching point for an out-of-this-world program. Next on the schedule is the World Spirit Federation Grand Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, December 2-3.
